Infomation About Me
Hello! My name is Anna Fleecs and I am the counselor for grades 9-12 at Roland-Story High School. I live in Ames, IA and am originally from Glidden, IA. I am excited to join the Roland-Story Community School District and serve the students and families here for my first year.
I received my Bachelor’s degree in Human Service Counseling from Wayne State College, NE, and my Master’s in Professional School Counseling from Minnesota State University, Mankato. This master’s program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
The program has aligned their work with the American School Counseling Association’s (ASCA) National Model. The ASCA National Standards reflect the expectations for all students to achieve, and the ethical and professional standards for all school counselors to uphold. As a professional school counselor, I support students in three areas of their lives: academic, career, and personal/social. School counselors collaboratively work with students, parents, school staff, and the community in the following delivery systems: School Counseling Curriculum, Individual Student Planning, Responsive Services, and System Support.
