Shalom College leased laptops are purchased with HP's accidental damage protection (ADP)

What is ADP?

  • ADP is insurance for your leased laptop

What does it cover?

  • ADP covers your leased laptop for any accidental damage that occurs to it, a statement of how the damage occured is required to make a claim.

What can be claimed?

  • You are able to claim upto three damaged parts per calendar year. If further parts are required for the repair of the laptop these parts will be billable. Shalom IT endeavours to ensure if further parts are required the least expensive part is billed to the leaser.

Is there a cost?

  • Yes, HP charge a $60.50 fee for the processing of every claim regardless of the amount of parts required. The IT Department notifies the colleges finance department that the student's leased laptop is being processed for an ADP claim and they invoice the students parent/guardian. Students will be able to collect repaired devices once this payment has been made.

(Price subject to change but accurate as at 11/01/2018)

What happens when the device is away for repair, how will the student be able to continue studies?

  • Students can obtain a loan laptop, Shalom IT issues a laptop loan form to all students that have their leased device processed for an ADP claim, this must be signed by the Parent/Guardian and a member of the college leadership team prior to the student obtaining a loan device.
