At The Heritage School, Rohini, we believe that the world is one big family and that learning finds its true meaning when it extends beyond classroom walls. This year, through The Happiness Project, our Social Action Programme (SAP) initiative for 2025–26, we took a meaningful step outward, reaching into the community to share time, skills, care, and joy.
While our SAP journeys in previous years focused on initiatives within the School, this year marked a heartfelt shift. Students from Classes IV to VII partnered with a Children’s Home, working closely with the children over several months to create joyful experiences and transform their spaces into places of warmth, learning, and belonging.
Our younger changemakers began by nurturing spaces that invite calm and curiosity.
Class IV Students came together to collect over 400 books for the Children's Home, thoughtfully setting up a cozy library, opening doors to imagination, quiet reading moments, and the joy of stories waiting to be discovered.
Class V Students created a soothing green nook for the Children's Home, planting herbs and air-purifying plants and upcycling materials to make planters, bringing freshness, care, and a touch of nature into everyday spaces.
Meanwhile, Students of Classes VI and VII, guided by a shared passion among both students and teachers, focused on creating meaningful experiences. After reflecting on how they wished to volunteer, students designed project stations based on their interests, supported by teacher mentors who joined initiatives they felt deeply connected to. This collaborative journey of research, planning, action, and reflection led to thoughtfully designed sessions for the children of the Children's Home.
Throughout the year, students curated and conducted engaging experiences—technology talks, cooking sessions, craft and home décor activities, fitness workshops including Yoga and Zumba, science explorations, educational games, and hygiene awareness programmes. The Children were welcomed into our School for these sessions, and in return, they shared their own talents, stories, and smiles, making the partnership truly reciprocal.
What began as an exchange of ideas soon blossomed into warm friendships. Laughter filled shared spaces, curiosity sparked conversations, and learning flowed both ways. Together, we discovered that happiness grows when it is shared.
Through this journey, our Students learnt far more than they had planned—empathy, teamwork, gratitude, confidence, responsibility, and the quiet joy of giving back. Small acts of social action grew into moments of deep connection and lasting impact.
As we move forward, we carry with us the belief that meaningful change begins with compassion and that by creating happy spaces and shared experiences, we can make a difference that truly lasts. We look forward to continuing this spirit of collaboration, community, and care in the years to come.
