“When a space is created with care, it quietly begins to care for those within it.”
For Classes IV and V, choosing Happy Spaces as the project came from a simple, heartfelt thought, how could a place be made warmer, calmer, and more welcoming for children who lived there every day? At this age, the students were naturally caring and observant, and the project helped them see how small, thoughtful changes in a space could gently lift spirits and bring comfort.
Class IV students worked on creating a library with this feeling in mind. As they collected books and arranged the space, they spoke about how stories could make someone feel less alone, spark imagination, or offer a quiet moment of peace. The library soon became more than shelves and books it became a cozy corner where children could slow down, read, dream, and feel at ease.
Class V students focused on bringing nature into the space. While planting herbs and air-purifying plants, they learnt how greenery could calm the mind, freshen the air, and make a place feel alive. Caring for the plants helped them understand patience, responsibility, and the quiet joy of watching something grow.
The heart of the Happy Spaces project was to help young students realise that happiness could be created through care and intention. A welcoming space could make someone feel seen, safe, and valued.
Through this journey, Classes IV and V learnt that giving back didn’t always mean doing something big, it often meant noticing what a place needed and responding with kindness.
