Family PE Week

The Catherine A. Dwyer Physical Education Department Presents:

Family PE Week Permisson Slip

Dear Parents:

I’m excited to share with you that our school will be participating in Family PE Week TBA. Family PE Week  is a fun way to learn about the physical education program at your child’s school. Sponsored by the Active Schools movement, it’s a campaign meant to highlight the importance of physical learning in schools. Active Schools is a collective impact movement helping schools provide students with equitable access to 60 minutes of physical activity and play every day.

PE teachers welcome parents to participate in class to see the fun and engaging activities that are helping keep students healthy and active. This week-long campaign encourages students and families to be physically active together at home and in the community. Simply check the PE schedule below, complete a permission slip and return it to the main office by TBA.

Daily physical activity has many benefits for kids, such as increasing their energy, focus, and readiness to learn and reducing stress and anxiety. Of course, physical activity has benefits for people of all ages, so helping my students’ families be active together is one of my physical education goals.

I hope that your family will participate together in one or more of the physical education lessons I provide during Family PE Week. It will give you a better understanding of the teaching and learning that goes on in physical education, and you will experience firsthand the fun and engaging activities that are helping to keep your child (Children) healthy and active.  Please scroll down to view the PE Schedule and FAQS.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Corie Blasi
