Frequently Asked Questions: Questions will be added as they are brought to the I-BOB planning team
Can I request to be placed on a team with my friend(s)?
At this time, because of the number of students involved it is not possible to meet this request. Also, Battle of the Books is not just about enjoying good books, but also about team building and meeting new people.
Can my family read the books that I am assigned to me or with me?
Yes, this is encouraged. Any opportunity to discuss the books you are reading for Battle of the Books will help you to be better prepared to help your team be the best they can be!
Will I be on a team with the other kids in my color band?
No. Each battle team will consist of at least one person from each color band. You will meet your battle team members just before the battle.
Do I have to come in early or stay late on the day of the battle?
No, all battles will take place during the school day.
If I am a student and I have a question, what do I do?
Please stop in to the reading center to talk to Mrs. L. Benkovich. If she is not there
please leave a note and she will come to your classroom and check in with you.
If I am a parent and I have a question, what do I do?
You can email Mrs. L. Benkovich at benkovichl@rockton140.org or call the school to
talk to her at 815-624-4006. If you would like Mrs. L. Benkovich to do a quick check-in
for encouragement with your child please let her know.
