Understanding Academic, Behavioral, and Social-Emotional Supports at
Quarry Trail Elementary School
MTSS (Multi-tiered System of Support) is a decision-making framework that guides the selection, integration, and implementation of the best evidence-based academic, social-emotional, and behavioral practices to ensure the highest outcomes for all students.
The Rocklin Unified School District and Quarry Trail Elementary is committed to the following:
Strategic Plan Goal 1: We will facilitate learning experiences that ignite passion, develop enduring skills, and feature relevance, choice, and purpose for each student
Strategic Plan Goal 2: Action 2.2: Create the systemic use of data across all domains (academic, behavioral, and social-emotional) to inform and drive instruction and interventions
Strategic Plan Goal 2 Action 2.4: Fully implement the Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS) model in the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional domains
What are the tiers of support?
Quarry Trail Elementary focuses on providing universal effective core instruction and systems for all students as the Tier I level of support. A tiered prevention logic requires that all students receive supports at the universal or primary tier. Based on data regarding student progress, some students are provided more intensive supports, in the form of a group contingency (Tier II or secondary supports) or a highly individualized plan (Tier III or tertiary supports).
