I believe that our lives are worth writing about, and that students need to care about what they write. I believe that writing is a craft; it can be empowering for students to learn how to become better writers.
Students will write in various different situations and contexts this year. Students will write in response to their Benchmark reading texts, to research various topics, and students will write to learn about themselves and express who they are. Trimester 1 we will focus on Narrative writing, Trimester 2 we will focus on Opinion Writing, and Trimester 3 we will focus on Information writing.
