Description:
Principles of Teaching Internship provides a unique opportunity to gain real world experience working in an elementary school classroom side by side with a mentor teacher. Student's travel off campus for one class period a day to a designated school in the Rocklin Unified School District. Throughout the year students engage in leadership roles working one on one with students as well as leading the class in activities. Developing a relationship through observation, conversation, and collaboration with the mentor teacher is an integral part of the course. Intern's are encouraged to build connections with the classroom students and return to campus for special occasions such as parades and performances. This course is not only a phenomenal addition to college applications but also the capstone course that completes the CTE Education Pathway.
