VDOE funds the ISAEP program through yearly grants. Requirements for enrollment in the program are as follows:
Have a meeting with the parent/guardian, student, instructor/principal.
Enrolled in a public school
At least 16 years old
One year behind in credits compared to their 9th-grade cohorts.
Have a 7.5 grade reading level
*All students are required to have a government-issued photo ID to test.*
The program meets every day from 8:50 am-2:15 pm. Throughout the day, students study core subjects to prepare for the GED test, complete Econ/PF, and work on career and technical education hours through various experiences.
The program may look different for each student, as the program is designed to fit the needs of the individual student.
Individual schedules and goals are discussed with the parent/guardian during the initial enrollment meeting and through follow-up communication.
