Throughout the year, 8th Graders will strive to increase their self confidence and see themselves as talented readers, writers, speakers, and thinkers. Classroom activities and assignments will prepare students for "what's next" by building upon an established foundation of knowledge to increase their critical thinking skills.
Literature and writing are meant to be shared, so we will spend much of our class time discovering information through exploration, discussion and collaboration. Our classroom provides a safe environment for students to share their knowledge, so participation is a fundamental expectation. On the first day of each week, I overview the Weekly Agenda which is written out on the whiteboard. Additionally, I post each Daily Agenda and associated materials in Google Classroom every day. During an absence, students are expected to check Google Classroom to stay as current as possible. This is also the "go-to" spot to retrieve any documents as needed!
