This is my seventeenth year in education.  I graduated from UNCG in 2009 with a Bachelors in Elementary Education.  I went back and earned my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Averett University in 2014.  I taught first grade for four years at Lawsonville Avenue Elementary.  We then merged with Moss Street Elementary where I taught first grade for five years.  I had the amazing opportunity to work with the Moss Street Partnership School for five years as a multi-age first and second grade teacher.  It pushed me to really learn how to look at standards, curriculum, and advocate for both students and teachers.  In 2023, I transferred to Douglass Elementary.  I taught second grade for two years.  Douglass is where I went to school and it is also where my youngest child attends.  Last year, I stepped into the Instructional Coach/AIG position. Working with older students was such a fun change. Listening to them talk about what they are learning, challenge each other, and build on ideas is something I continue to be amazed with. As an instructional coach, I love getting to work with all the teachers at Douglass. We have an amazing staff here and I learn from them everyday.  My heart will always be most fulfilled by working with students, so my times with my AIG groups are my favorite times of day.

My husband Clay and I have been married for fourteen years.  We have two sons.  Thomas is 12 and Sawyer is 10.  We have two dogs:  Salem and Whippet.  We spend most of our free time at a baseball field.  I love to read and play games.  My favorite activity is escape rooms!
