Want to learn to be a NINJA? Martial Arts strengthen emotional and physical development in a fun and challenging way. Did you know that playing is the beginning stage of “ninja training” for children, and that the Japanese kanji for "NINJA" mean "patience” or “perseverance?" The goal of this non-competitive training is to empower new and returning students with the clarity, confidence and capability to first AVOID DANGER and second, DEFEND themselves and others if a situation is unavoidable.

Your child will learn the art of exaggeration through fun lessons like Cow Expressions and Elf Expressions, capturing a range of emotions. They’ll enjoy sports-themed art with Basketball Fun and dive into seasonal activities with Baking and Decorating Sequences. Watch as their drawings come to life, featuring everything from baseball-playing animals to ogres with tons of attitude. In our classes, critters wear their personalities as boldly as their fur, and the art of exaggeration turns each session into a laughter-packed adventure. This isn't just any art class—it's your child's ticket to a world where creativity flies and laughter reigns.

Come join Pride Martial Arts for a fun, exciting, and educational self defense course! Grand Master Tom Bloom and Master Lauren Wasserman have been teaching martial arts in the community for 40+ years and have had the honor of witnessing thousands of incredible martial arts journeys along the way. This program is designed to teach young students the physical and mental fundamentals of self defense, encourage physical fitness, and introduce the traditional art of Tang Soo Do. Please wear comfortable clothing and be ready to punch, kick, and perform agility drills!

Comedy Improv with  Shakespeare Kids @ ROA Oxnard Center

Improvisation is an enjoyable and safe environment for an individual to experience self-growth. Plus it is SUPER FUN! Through interactive activities and exercises, students learn about and practice improvised storytelling. Improv is incredibly popular in modern entertainment, and it has been around for centuries. Commedia dell’arte, which heavily utilizes improv, is an Italian style of theatre that was popular in Europe in the 16th century, and most of the comedy and stock characters we see today originated from this art form. Improv classes are great for helping shy students break out of their shells and active students learn how to harness and direct their energy. In addition to teaching acting techniques, this program works on key concepts that will serve students for the rest of their lives such as cooperation, communication, quick thinking, and self-confidence.

Stage Combat with  Shakespeare Kids @ ROA Oxnard Center

This fun and highly physical series of workshops will challenge students to develop new levels of body awareness, safety skills and teamwork.  Students will learn Stage Combat technique through a combination of hand-to-hand, safe falls and broadsword.  This would also be a class emphasizing fitness so we would want the kids prepared to get a healthy workout while learning and incorporating acting into safe, fun combat lessons!

Nutrition Break and/or Teacher Team @ ROA Westlake & Oxnard Center

Students can enjoy spending time with friends during the nutrition break and take part in weekly themed activities during teacher time. If your child(ren) would like to participate in this 20-minute block, either before or after their workshops, please ensure you register for this option on Jumbula when signing them up for their workshops, and don’t forget to pack a snack or lunch for them to enjoy during the nutrition break!
