Registration Information

Course is Open to: Otter Valley 10th grade students and above. The student must be at least 15 years of age, hold a valid Vermont driver’s permit, have earned at least 7 credits, and is in good academic standing.

Students register for taking Driver Education at the same time as they do any other course. They make the request for the course in the spring when they sign up for other classes.

When Guidance schedules students into Driver Education, it is based on students' grade (10th or above- based on credits earned), birth date, and permit issued date. We need to have your permit number so we can enter it into Vermont State DMV’s database.  The one difference is that you do need to register your permit through the forms section in Powerschool. Please do this as soon as you get your physical permit.  The paper, temporary permit does not include a license number. In order to access the forms section you need to get into Powerschool on a different device then your phone or through the app.

*Please note that there are strict attendance requirements in order to pass Driver Education.  Students who miss more than three (3) class days will be removed from the course.
