Our goal is to support the welfare of animals in need. That means we want more than anything to have our rescues find their forever home, in a clean, healthy, and loving environment. If you feel like you’re ready, fill out an adoption application today!

Our Process

Potential adopters complete an application form, detailing their living situation, bird experience, and pet ownership expectations. Following this, they undergo a comprehensive screening, which includes the initial interview, reference check, and home visit to evaluate the environment's suitability for the bird. Upon approval, potential adopters have the opportunity to meet available birds, seeking the ideal match for their lifestyle and preferences. As this process prioritizes the well being of both bird and adopter, it does not result in same day adoption, ensuring a thoughtful and successful transition. If you are seeking a quick adoption or considering a bird as a gift to a loved one, our rescue is not a suitable option for you.

Visitations to birds in quarantine are not permitted.

Blue

Blue is a gentle Green Cheek Conure who is still learning to trust. He’s a little shy at first, but beneath his timid nature is a sweet soul just waiting for the right person to help him feel safe. Blue is not aggressive—he simply needs time, patience, and a loving home where he can blossom at his own pace. With gentle interactions and a calm environment, Blue will slowly come out of his shell and form a deep bond with his person

Kiki

Kiki is a beautiful African Ringneck and just like any Ringneck, Kiki is a spunky and fun bird with a cute personality. She considers herself a professional toy shredder and can get through a toy in a few hours! She has a bit of a rough past and appears to only enjoy the company of men. With men, she is snuggly and cute, and enjoys lying on her back, and clucking adorably. Kiki’s left foot is slightly disabled, so she does need some accommodations made for her to make sure she can move around comfortably but she does seem to get around well. She knows how to fly, and seems eager to learn new things. Kiki also loves showers and she likes spending time with people she likes. She is very scared and aggressive towards women, so having a woman as her primary caretaker would not be a good fit. Kiki is quite vocal and makes many fun noises but some of them are very loud! She is a sweetheart and can be a wonderful companion for the right person.

Phoebe

Phoebe is a gorgeous, high red Green Cheek Conure with a bold personality and a love for adventure. She’s happiest out of her cage, exploring, foraging, and causing a little mischief along the way. She's clever, curious, and definitely not shy about voicing her opinion—especially when it’s time to go back in her cage! She’s not a fan of other birds, but she loves human attention (especially if you come bearing treats). With patience and respect, Phoebe will be your quirky little sidekick—just the way she likes it

Moxy

Say hello to Moxy, a stunning Red-Lored Amazon with a gentle spirit and a voice that loves to be heard. Moxy was found by Summit County Animal Control and held in hopes that her family would come forward but sadly, no one claimed her. Now she’s with us at Rocky Mountain Avian Rescue, waiting for her second chance at love. Moxy is a sweet and talkative girl, though she’s understandably scared after all she’s been through. She needs someone patient, kind, and committed to helping her feel safe again. With time and trust, she’s sure to blossom into a loyal companion. Adopter must have no young children.

Playful, curious, and full of charm, he’s sure to bring joy and laughter to any home. Like most conures, Skittles thrives on attention and interaction. He’ll do best with a family who can give him daily out-of-cage time, plenty of toys to explore, and lots of love. He’s looking for a forever home where he can be not just a pet, but a cherished member of the family.

Noble does best as an only bird, where he can be the center of your world (and he’ll make sure you know he deserves it!). With his big heart and playful spirit, he’ll quickly become your little shadow and best friend.
