I was born and raised here in York County. I grew up in Hanover where I attended South Western School District. While in school, I enjoyed being involved in so many school activities. I played tennis, basketball, and participated in track. I was also a class officer and was involved in Student Council, Varsity Club, and Key Club. I loved EVERY aspect of school! While sitting in my 10th grade Algebra II class one day, I decided that I would be in school forever! I wanted to share my love of MATH with others and becoming a math teacher was my goal.
Following high school, I attended Millersville University where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in December 1993 and taught mathematics at Columbia Jr./Sr. High School from 1993 to 1998. In 1998, I transferred to Ephrata Middle School where I taught on a mixed 7th and 8th grade team. I absolutely loved teaching middle school but I was missing York County. In my 6th year of teaching, I accepted a position to teach mathematics at Red Lion Area Junior High School in the summer of 1999 and plan to be here until retirement. I earned my Master's Degree in Mathematics Education in May 2000 and continued through the years to take 60+ additional credits that would help me as an educator.
I married my wonderful husband in 1993 and we had two amazing boys. Our oldest son, Ty, earned his Mechanical Engineering Degree from York College and our youngest son, Brett, earned his degree from University of Pittsburgh where he majored in Neuroscience and Philosophy with a minor in Chemistry. Ty is currently working as a Mechanical Engineer and Brett is working towards Med School to become a doctor. As a family, we enjoy boating on the Chesapeake Bay from March to November. In the winter months, we enjoy game nights and anytime we can get together for family time. Scrapbooking and diamond dotting with my friends are my favorite hobbies. Any time with family and friends to create memories is so special to me. I do feel blessed to be a teacher and look forward to the lives I can touch each year!
