Media Center Procedures:

Borrowing Books:

  • Your student lunch number is your library card.

  • Place holds through Koha Digital Library

    • Your login is the same as your Google login information.

  • Finding a Book:

    • Koha:

      • Koha can be accessed inside and outside of school through this link. The login information is the same as your Google account. Through the web version of Koha you can search for material, place holds on material and check your library account. Books placed on hold will be delivered to your homeroom classroom. Hybrid or virtual students can pick up library material at the main office.

Checking Out/Returning Books:

    • Each student is allowed to borrow up to 3 books at a time. Books may be signed-out for a period of 2 weeks before they need to be returned or renewed.

      • 2 Ways to return books:

        • You may drop off books in the library through the book-drop slot on the circulation desk

        • Put in the drop-box in the school lobby (use this option anytime or if the library is closed)

    • Staff may sign-out books at anytime for as long as needed.

Special Requests:

  • If you are in need of a book that our library does not have in its collection we will check other libraries in the district or the Kaltreider Benfer Library for you.

  • You may also request to have a book purchased for the library. Please be aware that books selected for the library must meet certain selection criteria in order to be chosen for our collection.

Devices in the Library Media Center:

  • The Library Media Center is a green zone area, meaning students may use devices here, including cell phones.

      • The District's Acceptable Use Policies regarding District Technology Use and Electronic Devices must be followed when you are in the library.

      • It is the responsibility of the student to know what each policy states concerning use of technology.

Please follow the Acceptable Use Policies to avoid losing the privilege of using your devices in this area.

Consideration for Others:

  • The Media Center can be a busy place at times- students returning/checking out books, small groups working collaboratively, or individuals needing a place to complete assignments or read a book. With that in mind, when entering and using the Library Media Center, please keep your voices to a level considerate of others who may need a relatively quiet place to work, study, or read.
