Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are writing to inform you about the upcoming Keystone Exams, which are end-of-course assessments designed to evaluate your child’s proficiency in academic content. Achieving a “proficient” score on the Algebra I, Literature, and Biology Keystone Exams is the simplest way to fulfill the state-wide Pennsylvania graduation requirement.
Exam Schedule - Students testing will report for a normal school day (7:38am-2:40pm).
Keystone Algebra Exam:
– Dates: Monday, May 11 and Tuesday, May 12, 2026
Keystone Biology Exam:
– Date: Wednesday, May 13, 2026 (Remote Day for Non-Test Takers)
Keystone Literature Exam:
– Dates: Monday, May 18 and Tuesday, May 19, 2026
Delayed Start Days - 3 Hour Delay for Non-Testers - May 11, 12, 18, and 19
On May 11, May 12, May 18, and May 19, the school will operate on a three hour delay. On these days students not required to take a specific Keystone Exam may report at 10:46 AM.
Transportation and Entry Procedures for Delayed Starts
If your child is not testing on one or more of the testing days and does not have personal transportation to allow them to arrive at 10:46 AM, then they should ride their normally assigned bus and report to the Student Commons at 7:38 AM. They will be assigned to a quiet study hall while testing is in progress.
Please note that non-testing students will not be allowed to enter the school building between 7:45 AM and 10:30 AM while testing is in progress.
At 10:30 AM, non-testing students with transportation may enter only through the Student Commons, where they will remain until 10:42 AM. Attendance will then be taken at 10:46 AM.
It is important that students who ride a district bus enter the building immediately upon arrival. Please note that if upon arrival at school, a student exits their bus and leaves school property (and does not enter the building), this is considered the same as Leaving School without Permission and will result in an in-school suspension. Students who enter the building and then leave rather than going to study hall will also earn an in-school suspension. Additionally, any students who leave without permission will not be permitted to re-enter the building without consenting to a search in accordance with our student handbook and school board policy. This policy is in place to ensure the safety of all of our students.
Virtual Day – May 13
Wednesday, May 13, will be a Virtual Day for all students who are not required to take the Keystone Biology Exam. Students taking the Biology exam will be in school from 7:38 AM to 2:40 PM. Non-testing students will complete asynchronous assignments virtually as assigned by their teachers following the schedule below. This is not a Lion Virtual Learning Day where students need to follow a schedule and meet with teachers at scheduled times. Instead, students must submit work by a specific time. Work can be completed ahead of time, but for attendance purposes, all work must be submitted by a specific time (See Chart).
