This course is designed to prepare the student to develop strategies to further their education in the field of Art and/or to prepare the student to enter the workforce. Attention and stress are placed upon advance development in personal techniques. Experimentation with new concepts and media is encouraged. Importance is placed on personal and professional growth. Required artwork will need to be completed both in- and out-of-the classroom.

Student must create a 20 piece art portfolio
12 pieces are created within the year-long course following chosen theme
8 pieces of art may be already created from previous projects / classes
And be able to write about the pieces made
If the student wants to receive any college credit, they must complete a portfolio review. up to 3 credits. this takes out a whole class in college

10 Total Lates= after school detention
Each additional is 1.5 hour Saturday detention
More than 5 Minutes Late
1st offense: Discipline Referral with After School Detention until 3:30
2nd offense: Discipline Referral with Saturday Detention 1.5 hours
3rd offense: Discipline Referral with Saturday Detention 3 hours
