Advanced Drawing & Painting

Advanced Drawing & Painting is a high level course offered to students who wish to develop their technical artistic skills while creating a solid body of original artwork. Artwork created during class may be for exhibition, for enhancing the college application process, and may be submitted for scholarship considerations. This course is designed for students with strong, independent motivation and a desire to become mature artists. 

Students will demonstrate creativity, originality, and investigate formal and conceptual issues. Students will emphasize art-making as an ongoing process that involves the student in informed and critical decision making. Students will develop technical skills and familiarize themselves with the functions of the visual elements. Students will be encouraged to become independent thinkers who will contribute inventively and critically to their artwork throughout the course.

• Have laptop charged, in working order, and turned on for each class

• Respond when called on

• Write an essay about each peice that was created in class

• 50% Classwork

• 20% Tests/Quizzes

• 30% Performance

Grades will be updated weekly in Skyward as much as possible.
