Sierra College Classes During High School
Off Site Academic Enrichment Courses
Students who are considering taking a course at Sierra College, or another institution MUST submit a formal request via the form below.
Students must be enrolled full time at West Park High School while attending an off site class in order to enroll in an off site course. Off site courses that are currently being offered at West Park High School will not be approved unless there are circumstances that prevent the student from taking the course on site.
Classes will not be placed on transcripts.
Sierra Academic Enrichment is available for students to gain the opportunity to take classes that are unavailable at the High School or will not fit in their schedule due to a pathway, program or rigorous course of study they are taking. Course approval is done on an individual basis, considering each student's 4 year plan and course of study. Please see the link below outlining Sierra's policy on Academic Enrichment which states: "All opportunities to enroll in an equivalent course at the student's school of attendance or school district must be exhausted ".
The “Off Site Course Permission Request Form” must be electronically signed by the student, parent/guardian, prior to a student bringing the form to a counselor to sign to take the off site course.
The institution where the course is taken must be a WASC or otherwise regionally accredited school (student is required to attach documentation of accreditation).
It is the student/family’s responsibility to confirm if the requested course is college/A-G approved.
