The word avid comes from the Latin avidus, meaning eager to learn, and at Ramona's AVID program, we hope you are just that. Eager to learn about yourself, your interests, your passions, your strengths, your future, and, of course, eager to learn in your classes.
AVID is a four-year elective program that is designed for students who want to go to college and want to challenge themselves and grow. We aim to develop their academic, study, planning, and organization habits as they mature and develop interests that will lead them to many career path choices.
If you are interested in contributing to our scholarship fund, fundraising, other donations, or being a guest speaker, please contact the AVID coordinator, Cassie Allen at caallen@riversideunified.org
Alumni, we love it when you get involved!
We try to provide a minimum of two guest speakers per month for our students. Each guest speaker brings their own unique experiences in the college and/or career world and shares their journey and career with the students. We love to get parents and alumni involved. Last year we got to learn about exciting careers such as physicist, pilot, lawyer, audiologist, air quality control, human resources, sociologist, and detective, just to name a few. If you have a career path or journey you would like to share with the students, please contact Cassie Allen at caallen@riversideunified.org
