I promise to perform my part as well as I can, to accept praise and criticism with grace, to cooperate with my fellow Thespians and work for the good of the troupe, and to share my love of theatre.

The International Thespian Society is the only organization to honor secondary school students for outstanding work in theatre. Martin Luther King High School has a Thespian Charter (Troupe #6209) which is renewed each year. Students earn points using a standardized Thespian point system which gains a lifetime membership to International Thespian Society when 10 points are earned. 1 point is approximately 10 hours of theatrical work. After earning membership points continue to towards becoming an Honor Thespian at 60 points, a National Honor Thespian at 120 points and and International Honor Thespian at 180 points.
