At this level of writing it is so important that students build confidence. We want to encourage students to use the sounds they hear in the words as they are writing. They do not need to follow spelling rules yet!

When you help your child write at home, you may write the correct spelling above or below in small print so that another reader will be able to decipher what your child is saying.
