Please NO FOOD/PERISHABLE items to create your projects! EARLY projects are ENCOURAGED!
As part of our focus as a STEM school, we have an at-home quarterly challenge. These projects aim for scholars and their families to engage in the design process at home. Most homeroom teachers offer an incentive for participating, like extra credit, free missing assignments, and homework passes (ask your scholar’s homeroom teacher what incentive they offer). Also, some projects will even be entered into a competition with awards and prizes!
We are focusing on the design process during our STEAM lessons at school. The design process is used by engineers, scientists, architects, and artists, just to name a few! The Engineering Design Process is a great way to approach problem-solving!
What is STEAM? STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. It is an integrated approach that encourages students to think about real-world problems and solutions.
Please bring your completed project in by the deadline (or early). We will display our projects throughout the building for everyone to see. If your project is too large to bring to school, you may take a picture to share on ClassDojo or by email.
