Hello Everyone!

I'm Mrs. Neutze and I am your ELA and Social studies teacher this year! This is my ninth year teaching here at River Islands Technology Academy, but my 2nd year in 8th grade (as many of you know since I had you in 6th grade two years ago 😊! ) To pronounce my last name, think of it like the word "noisy" with a t and z in there noi-t-zy!

I was born and raised in Livermore, right over the Altamont. I attended Granada High School in Livermore and attended Livermore High for one Semester.  I was very involved in community service projects, like raising Guide Dog Puppies for the Blind and classes such as Leadership and Business Management. After high school, I attended University of the Pacific in Stockton, where I originally majored in Accounting and Marketing. I ended up switching majors my Sophomore year in order to fulfill my life long dream of becoming a teacher. I got my degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). 

My husband and I moved to Manteca to be closer to River Islands in 2018. We currently have a home full of furry friends, three cats and two dogs. Our cats names are Naya (7), Hendricks (4), and Meister (6). Our dogs are Chloe (5), Rayven (11).  When we are not at home caring for our "farm", we enjoy traveling the world together like France, England, Denmark, and Sweden. My husband's entire family is from New Zealand and Germany (hence our last name) and I hope to visit New Zealand in the next few years! 

When we are not at home or traveling the world, my husband and I recently took up the hobby of jumping out of perfectly good planes. That's right, we love skydiving!! Which is somewhat ironic because I am extremely afraid of heights. 

In June of 2022, my husband and I had our first baby, Thomas! Many of you have met him over the last few years. Thomas is about to be a big brother to baby Michael this fall! While I am out on maternity leave, you will have the MOST incredible guest teacher and I already can't wait to be back to have so many incredible adventures with you this year!!
