Meet the Masters is an art appreciate program for elementary students to introduce children to the world of art by volunteers in participating school.
It is a way to cultivate interest for art history in our youth.
Meet the Masters seeks to sustain awareness and interest in art by exposing children to selected artwork prints (approved by Broward School Board).
Program is led by volunteers that have a genuine interst and enthusiasm for bringing fine art to the young. No art or teaching experience is required.
By 6th grade, many students decide they either have creative talent or don’t. (HINT: Everyone is Creative!)
For some, this will be the only exposure to the fine arts.
Meet the Masters promote awarness of the arts that exposes children to an appreciation they will carry forward into the future to support the arts and art instituions.
Meet the Masters sessions provide a break from routine lessons to learn about something new through FUN art!
For several years, the community has worked with principals and teachers on plans and ideas to bring additional art programs into Broward County Schools.
These programs have had a common goals - to enrich and add to the existing art programs.
Many educators, interested community leaders and parents believe that a strong need still exists for more art appreciation programs in our schools, especially at the ELEMENTARY school level.

Riverglades PTA Meet the Masters chairs have created Art Lessons using this guide for volunteers to use in their classrooms.
