About Me!

My name is Ms. Schussler and I am so excited to be teaching fourth grade again at Roosevelt this year.  I have my masters in Elementary Education and this will be my 9th year teaching.  You can always find me reading a book, hiking, doing a jigsaw puzzle, or spending time with family and friends in my spare time. I also love taking my cat Simba on walks and will gladly show you pictures.

In my classroom, I believe in a hands-on learning approach and learning by doing rather than telling.  Mistakes are welcome as they are a great way to learn. If we make them, we don't dwell in my classroom. We celebrate, fix, and move on to the next task. Success in my classroom stems from organization, listening, honesty, and hard work. I do believe in cultivating a class of independent learners by encouraging each student to find their voice. I love it when students are able to advocate for themselves. These are just some of the qualities I look for in a student.  My expectations are high, but like you, my goal is to see your child be the best version of themselves and have success throughout their life.
