📌 Extended School Year (ESY) Services
Extended School Year (ESY) services provide special education and related services to students with disabilities beyond the 180-day school year. Under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), local educational agencies (LEAs) must provide ESY services if they are necessary for a student to receive a Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE).
📌 Summer Academy & ESY
Summer Academy works closely with the ESY Program to provide a comprehensive summer learning experience. If your child is attending ESY, they may fill their remaining period time slots with Exploratory classes.
🔹Before selecting a course, please check the periods during which your child will be enrolled in ESY classes. The 2026 ESY schedule will be available soon, as it may differ from last year’s schedule (shown below) based on enrollment.
If there is any overlap between selected exploratory classes and ESY academic classes, our team will work with you to ensure your child can participate in their preferred class without conflicting with their academic schedule.
🔹 Registration does not guarantee enrollment. Classes fill on a first-come, first-served basis. If a class reaches capacity, students will be placed in a similar Exploratory class based on their age and grade level.
📌 Grade Level Guidance
For Summer Academy: When viewing the schedule below, reference your child’s current grade level.
Example: If my child is currently in 3rd grade (25-26 school year), I should register for 3rd-grade classes.
For Extended School Year (ESY): ESY is offered by the Child Study Team. Please contact them with any questions.
ESY classes are based on the grade level your child is entering next school year.
Example: If my child was in 3rd grade for the 25-26 school year, I should register for 4th-grade ESY classes.
