Testing (SAT and ACT)

The ACT will be given to juniors in April. If you prefer to take another SAT or ACT at another time, you can register for and pay for a test on your own. ACT and SAT are looked at the same by colleges. Many colleges no longer require a standardized test for admission. You may want to look into your prospective colleges so that you know what their requirements are. Test sites are fairly limited so make sure that you check Iowa and Illinois for locations. The SAT is given more often in Davenport than on the Illinois side. Some SAT sites are farther away. You may have to consider testing in Iowa City, East Peoria, or Galesburg for example. There are more test sites for ACT, so if you need to stay in the local area, you may want to consider registering for the ACT.
