About Ms. Hall
Arianna Hall (AKA: “Ms. Arianna” or “Ms. Hall” - yes, you can call me either one). I graduated from Oregon State University, Go Beavers!, in 2017 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and Chemistry and then in 2018 with a Masters of Science in Science Education. I absolutely love teaching middle school, this will be my 6th year as a MS Science Educator and my 3rd year as part of the Riverdale family. In my free time I paint wildlife, take bike rides around the city, drink a lot of coffee, propagate plants, travel, and hang out with my amazing friends and family. The most fun thing I did this summer was explore Japan!
P.S. I'm your new cross country coach! See you on the trails.
What’s Science Class Like?
I strive to create a safe, open space for students to explore scientific phenomena and engineering by developing models to illustrate scientific processes, collaborating with peers during hands-on labs, designing projects that involve student choice and encourage creativity, and have fun while exploring this year’s topics! All labs and activities are aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards. If you have more questions regarding phenomenon/inquiry based science, the NGSS, or how Ambitious Science Teaching works, never hesitate to reach out to me!
What Are We Learning About?
The 7th grade curriculum explores Biology, and 8th grade is all about Chemistry and Physics!
7th Grade Units: Cells, Genetics, Ecosystems, Human Impacts and Evolution
8th Grade Units: Energy, Waves, Matter, Reactions and Forces
What Materials Do I Need?
All the materials you need for science class are already ordered at the beginning of the year! Please be prepared and always bring your binder and a writing tool for class. If you’re in Botany class 7th hour, you can purchase the optional textbook “The New Plant Parent” by Darryl Cheng if you and your parent(s) would like to improve your botany skills at home!
