Through enrichment, we aim to provide structure and support for all of our students to help them widen their interests, improve their communication and interaction and develop mutual respect.
All students take part in a lunchtime club! This 30-minute activity is held after dinner and our clubs include:
Forest School Club
Football Club
Move, Build, Create Club
Computing Club
Arts and Crafts Club
Film Club
Library Club
Dance Club
Outdoor Games Club
Fitness Club (accessed in our fitness suite)
Humanities Club (AQA awards)
Around 50 students typically take part in our after-school clubs which start in the second Autumn half term, clubs include:
Trampoline Club
Games Workshop Club
Music club
Forest School club
Fitness Club
Swimming Club
All students have access to our pool to support their water confidence, basic swimming skills and in some cases, hydrotherapy. In 2021-2022 over 100 students accessed our pool!
Riverbank Academy has a full-time music teacher. We decided that our music teacher would not have a tutor group in the morning so they can teach 1-1 music lessons to our students (every morning 8:50-9:15) to harness their talents and interests!
Every year between 20%-25% of our students take part in a residential. For more information on our residential programme, please CLICK HERE.
Since 2019 Riverbank Academy plan and deliver a five-day Easter Holiday Club and ten-day Summer Holiday Club. The Easter Holiday Club provides a range of enrichment opportunities that include cooking, arts and crafts, and offsite visits such as breakfast in a local restaurant and bowling. Our Summer Holiday Club is open to all students across all pathways but mainly supports our new year 7 intake for enhanced transition. Feedback from our parents and carers is always positive and we know it works well because we always have lots of students and families wanting to take part!
