At Riverbank Academy, our assessments tell us how well our students are learning the planned curriculum by identifying gaps in student knowledge and skills.
By identifying gaps in knowledge we can make adaptations to our provision so that students have better opportunities to learn our curriculum content. It also informs continued professional development opportunities so that our teaching methods facilitate high levels of engagement and learning.
Each year, our whole school development plan is partly informed by our assessments, by combining assessment information for groups of students, pathways and subjects. For example, if we identify that an area of the school is performing lower than other parts of the school, it will become a strategic priority for our leaders and monitored over a set period of time.
We celebrate and report on our assessments to our students, all staff, parents, carers and governors.
