When reporting on progress for P Steps, MAPP, and EHCP Assessments we typically use the following language:
Emerging (E)
There is evidence showing that the student is accessing and achieving in some of the areas identified within a limited context (P Step).
The student is making no progress. Or the student infrequently shows some signs of progress toward the target in a singular context and with significant support (MAPP/EHCP)
Developing (D)
There is evidence showing that the student is achieving in most of the areas identified and is starting to apply these skills in different contexts (P Step).
The student is making progress towards the target which is applied in two or more contexts with increased frequency and with some support (MAPP/EHCP).
Secure (S)
There is evidence showing that the student is achieving in the majority of the areas and the skills identified are applied in a variety of contexts (P Step).
The student regularly achieves the target in a variety of contexts with little or no support (MAPP/EHCP).
