Provides fulltime education, Monday to Friday 8:50am-3:05pm (with 30 lessons taught each week)
Students access 2 lessons of literacy and 2 lessons of functional skills with opportunities to take their exam each year to help increase opportunities of employment in the future.
All students take part in reading interventions every morning. Typically Adventurer students in KS5 are Free Readers or students accessing our Rapid Reader programme to support their automaticity and fluency.
Students access 2 lessons of Maths Life Skills and 2 lessons of Functional Skills with opportunities to take their exam each year to help increase opportunities of employment in the future.
To support their independence and personal development students access 2 lessons of My Tool Box and 1 lesson for EHCP targeted support.
To support their fitness, health and leisure, students access 2 lessons of PE and have increased access to our fitness suite.
Students access 3 lessons of Visual and Digial Art (Visual Media) to support their creativity and self-expression.
To support their independence and employment skills students access 2 lessons of Hospitality and Tourism in our purposefully designed Independent Zone.
To support their independence, interactions, well-being and mental health students access 4 lessons of the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
To support their awareness and mutual respect of the wider world every half term students take part in our Countries of the World event to learn about different places and cultures in our world.
To ensure 16+ has a strong sense of cohesion, community and togetherness, classes join up for 1 lesson every week to celebrate their success and discuss topical events.
