This initiative has been selected as a recipient of the Global Youth Action Fund. The funds received are being used to make this solution more accessible (especially for more vulnerable families), drive awareness, scale up the impaced, and stimulate collaboration amongst young volunteers and advocates. For instance, this would include allocating funds to cover costs of infrastructure and machinery for efficient mass hyacinth collection and animal feed production as well as to fund collaborative events such as a water-hyacinth volunteer day and discussion panels. Funds are also being allocated towards running tests on the concentration of proteins extracted from various water hyacinth samples and various parts of the plants in order to maximize yield of nutritional benefits in the animal feed production process.
