Rewards/Consequences
•Behavior Chart-Students can move up/down throughout the day. Tickets for a weekly raffle are given to the students based on how high they get on the chart.
•P.A.T. Points-Free time/class parties
•Self-Selected P.E. (Friday Fun Club)-reward for having all of assignments turned in and good behavior for the week.
•Class Dojo-Students receive positive and negative points. Parents can track how their child is doing online. I also use Dojo to post pictures of things we are doing in the classroom and send class messages.
Homework
•Homework is an extension of the learning experiences students have had during the instructional day.
•It will be given nightly (Mon.-Thurs.). Math work is given on Fridays, but there is time in class to finish it.
•Students will write their assignments (homework and in-class) in their planners at the end of each day. It is the student’s responsibility to get their planner signed by a parent each night.
•Reading-50 minutes per week
•If a student has 5 homework assignments that are incomplete/missing/late in a trimester, then they will receive a detention.
•Missing/incomplete/late assignments could be from not following directions completely, leaving problems blank, no name papers, leaving homework folders at home, etc.
Students on IEPs will have additional staff support during classroom instruction or may be meeting with our Educational Specialist teachers separately.
**Read 180 will take place during the scheduled ELA class time.
All students in grades K-8 participate in Universal Screening in the areas of Math and Reading. This screening is conducted 4 times a year in an effort to identify those students that may need additional support.
K-1 Universal screening assessment is called Aimsweb
2-8th Universal screening assessment is called Star 360
