Writing / Language Arts

Students will complete a writing assignment in a specific writing genre each quarter this year. These assignments will be posted mid-quarter and turned in through Google Classroom.  The genres are as follows:

• • Narrative Writing

  • Argument/Opinion Writing

  • Information Writing

  • Speech

Each writing assignment will be assessed to grade level state standards. Online optional lessons will be offered and the lessons will be matched to the specific writing genre assignment for the quarter. We realize that families are using a variety of writing curriculum and the order of units/genres may not match up with the genres that are assigned by Odyssey each quarter. If this is the case, please reach out to your child(ren)'s teacher.
