Eligibility for Services

Students seeking to register for adult education classes at Rio Salado College must meet state eligibility requirements as defined by the Arizona Department of Education under A.R.S. § 15-232(B), which states that “The Department of Education shall provide classes under this section only to adults who are citizens or legal residents of the United States or are otherwise lawfully present in the United States. This subsection shall be enforced without regard to race, religion, gender, ethnicity or national origin.” Prospective students will certify eligibility and lawful presence by signing a self-declaration statement during the registration process. For identification purposes, prospective students will be asked to present a valid government issued identification that contains a recognizable photo. Students who wish to participate in credit career training will also need to present identification for in-state residency.

Registration Fee

*Registration Fees are waived until further notice! * The registration fee ranges from $25 to $70, depending on the student's household income and the number of family members living in the household. Students will pay the registration fee every 16 weeks. Refer to the Registration Fee table to determine how much you can expect to pay for a class. You will make the payment at the time of registration at the Rio Salado location where you plan to attend class. Class fees are non-refundable. Continuing students pay the registration fee every 16 weeks, starting from their initial start date.
