• Dr. Franziska Peterson We're excited to welcome Franziska Peterson, Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education at the University of Maine, as our SLAM speaker for Empowering Learners Through Data Literacy & Mathematical Modeling. Franziska's work focuses on helping learners make sense of data, statistics, and quantitative information in meaningful ways. Join us as she shares insights into building students' mathematical literacy and preparing them to think critically about the world around them.

• Dr. Justin Reich How is Generative AI changing mathematics education? Join MIT professor, author, and researcher Dr. Justin Reich as he explores The Homework Machine. Drawing from conversations with teachers and students across the country, Justin will share thought-provoking ideas about teaching, learning, and navigating the opportunities and challenges of AI in our classrooms. This is one session you won't want to miss!

• Omo Moses Founder and CEO of MathTalk, Omo Moses is passionate about helping children and families discover the joy of mathematics everywhere. In his SLAM session, From SNCC to the Algebra Project to Math Everywhere!, Omo will share powerful stories and insights about equity, community, and creating meaningful mathematical experiences beyond the classroom. Join us for an inspiring conversation about mathematics, opportunity, and connection.

• Dewey Gottlieb NCTM President-Elect and K–16 Engagement Manager at Desmos Studio, Dewey Gottlieb will challenge us to think about an important question: What do students truly take away from their mathematics experiences? Join us as Dewey explores access, equity, mathematical identity, and the learning experiences our students deserve. His session promises to inspire reflection and action for educators at every level.

• Dr. Mike Steele We're thrilled to welcome Mike Steele, Professor and Chairperson of Educational Studies at Ball State University. In his SLAM session, Leveraging Student Assets in a Deficit-Based World, Mike will explore how educators can build on students' strengths and create more asset-based learning environments. Join us for practical insights and powerful ideas that can transform the way we support and empower every learner.

• Milissa O'Neil As the 2025 Rhode Island Teacher of the Year, Milissa O'Neil brings passion, creativity, and a commitment to equity in education. A first-grade teacher and advocate for STEAM learning, Milissa embodies our conference theme: Bridging Ideas, Building Futures: Equity and Excellence in Mathematics Education.
