Japanese Language Proficiency Requirement | 日本語能力要件
As a general rule, the minimum required level of the Japanese language proficiency is Lv6 for taking regular academic courses in Japanese at colleges/graduate schools as well as University-wide Liberal Arts Courses. Be sure to take the courses according to your Japanese level. If you will take the courses higher than your Japanese level, you will not receive any special treatment so please understand that you are responsible for what courses you register for.
Some courses have different minimum required levels of Japanese language proficiency, so please confirm on the “Course List for Special International Students” which is distributed during the orientation period.
各学部・研究科の専門科目、全学共通科目の日本語で開講される科目を履修する際に必要な日本語能力要件は、原則として日本語プレイスメントテストLv6以上とします。自身の日本語レベルに合致した科目を履修してください。仮に自身のレベル以上の科目を履修する場合にも、特別な配慮はいたしませんのでその点を理解して自己責任で登録をしてください。なお、科目によっては必要な日本語能力要件が異なる場合もあるので、詳細はオリエンテーション期間中に配布する「特別外国人学生履修可能科目一覧」（Course List for Special International student）で確認してください。
University-wide Liberal Arts Courses - Language Requirement | 全学共通科目 語学要件
① Comprehensive courses conducted in foreign language／総合系科目Ｆ科目
In order to enroll in these classes, use the following scores as a guide for taking the course.
<Levels>
(Advanced level) Non-native speakers of English at a level equivalent to TOEIC L&R 700 or higher.
(Intermediate level) Non-native speakers of English at a level equivalent to TOEIC L&R 550 or higher.
* For courses offered in other languages, please refer to each syllabus.
外国語（主に英語）で行われる全学共通科目です。英語で開講される科目は、履修にあたって以下の英語力を基準としています。
＜基準＞
(上級)TOEIC L&Rスコア 700点程度以上
(中級)TOEIC L&Rスコア 550点程度以上
※その他の外国語で開講される科目については、別途シラバスを参照してください。
② Language Courses (English elective classes) ／ 言語自由科目（英語）
The purpose of English elective classes of Language Courses in University-wide Liberal Arts Courses are to enhance students’ English abilities in order to reach a level sufficient for study abroad and communication with others appropriately in English. There are three areas (Global Communication, Global Studies and Global Career) and students must register after confirming the approximate language level in the syllabus notes.
標準的な英語のコミュニケーション能力から英語圏の大学で必要とされる高度な英語力まで、一人ひとりが望むレベルに到達できることを目的として開講されています。 英語自由科目では3つの領域（グローバル・コミュニケーション、グローバル・スタディーズ、グローバル・キャリア）があり、 各科目のシラバスに履修目安の記載がありますので、確認した上で履修する科目を決めてください。
③ Language Courses (Language Education Subjects B)／言語自由科目（言語B）
In order to enroll in free language courses in German, French, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Russian, Portuguese, Indonesian, Thai, Tagalog, and Vietnamese, in principle, students must achieve Lv5 or above on the Japanese Placement Test (except for courses offered in the relevant language) and meet the course guidelines in the syllabus notes.
言語系科目自由科目のうち、ドイツ語、フランス語、スペイン語、中国語、朝鮮語、ロシア語、ポルトガル語、インドネシア語、タイ語、タガログ語、ベトナム語の自由科目を履修するためには、原則として、日本語プレイスメントテストでLv5以上（当該言語で開講される科目を除く）であり、シラバスの注意事項にある履修目安を満たす必要があります。
University-wide Liberal Arts Courses– Comprehensive Courses: General Sports Studies | 全学共通科目 総合系科目 スポーツ実習
Students who register for General Sports Studies need to visit the Health Center and get the seal on the commuter pass certificate to certify that you had a health check within one year. Please show the commuter pass certificate to the course instructor after you get the seal.
全学共通科目のスポーツ実習を履修する場合は、通学定期乗車券発行控に1年以内に健康診断を受けている証明の印を保健室で押してもらう必要があります。証明の印を受けたら、授業で担当教員に見せてください。
Special procedures for exception to take and receive credits for only one semester of full-year courses (both for undergraduate and graduate courses) *This only applies to the College of Law and Politics. | 通年科目の半期履修・単位修得についての例外措置(学部・大学院共通) ※法学部以外で適用対象となる科目はありません。

* If students take the same course in the Spring semester of the following year, they receive 4 credits in the following semester instead of 2 credits each in two semesters. (4 credits which equal the total number of credits normally earned by a full-year course).

＊翌年度の春学期も同じ科目を履修した場合は、前年度秋学期に修得した2単位を取り消し4単位を認める。
