Students scheduled for Advanced Placement courses are expected to take the AP examinations. Any student enrolled in an AP course who does not sit for the AP examination will receive Honors weighting. If a student does not take the AP exam, the course will appear as an AP course with Honors weighting on the transcript.
AP Self Study
Students are welcome but not encouraged to take self study options for AP courses. AP courses require extreme rigor and are best taken in a standard classroom environment at Ridgewood High School.
Any student taking the self-study option will be afforded the opportunity to take the AP exam at Ridgewood HS for courses we offer. Please understand the self-study option will not count for high school credit or appear on the transcript.
