Going Virtual: Deepening Learning w 360° Resources

"We remember 20% of what we hear but 90% of what we experience."

The SRMS LLC Ridgefield Education Foundation grant, Going Deep! Virtual Reality in the SRMS Library Learning Commons, will allow us to explore opportunities for deeper connections to content with virtual reality as one aspect of a learning experience. We'll offer content, resources and reflections on this site.

Purpose: Provide teachers and students with the opportunity to deepen student-centered learning by providing the materials, resources and support for 3D, virtual reality “travel.” As a component of blended learning, VR can improve student creativity and understanding of concepts while increasing empathy and motivation to learn.

Enhancement to curriculum: Using virtual reality as a part of a larger lesson in creative, collaborative units will result in technologically-infused, engaging and immersive learning experiences for students.
