Through the impact of a comprehensive, developmental and strengths-based school counseling program at RHS, our graduates will employ the skills to succeed academically, personally and socially in their careers, higher education classes and relationships.
They will advocate for themselves and others while being collaborative, communicative, innovative, knowledgeable, mindful and resilient.
The Counseling Center is located in the back area of the main office. The main entrance is across from the LLC, on the first floor A wing hallway. Students are encouraged to make appointments with their school counselor with any questions and/or concerns. QR codes to make appointments can be found on the bulletin board outside the main entrance door. Students can also check in and make appointments with Mrs. Gallagher or Mrs. Harris.
The RHS Counseling Program affords students the opportunity to meet with school counselors in classroom settings, small-groups, and individual sessions. These modes of delivery allows for school counselor to focus on academics, personal/social development, career exploration, college applications, course selection, and graduation requirements.
The School Counseling Program at Ridgefield High School is comprehensive and developmental in nature as it aligns with the school's mission and core values of encouraging resilience, citizenship, empathy, mindfulness, collaboration, communication, and individual growth.
We service our students through classroom lessons (known as seminars), individual meetings and small groups. The school counselors at RHS are certified professional educators who support students in their journeys through adolescence into young adulthood, assisting them in academic success, personal and social growth, career exploration, and college applications. In our efforts to support high school students, we also collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, deans, mental health professionals and parents.
