If a student would like to take a course for which they have not been recommended, they are free to do so, except for sequential AP Courses such as

• AP World History, AP Calculus AB, AP English Language, AP Spanish, AP Physics I, etc.

In those cases, students are required to complete this Google Form which will be delivered to the department chair of that particular subject. Meeting with a department chair is NOT required for any elective class (College Prep, Honors or AP).

Students and parents should be mindful that recommendations are carefully considered by all teachers and sometimes, taking a less rigorous course allows a student to build the skills and mindset to be successful for more challenging coursework in the next school year.
