Timekeeper opens for Pre-Registration on the first day of each month for all local PD events awarding CEUs.

All PD Participants MUST complete these 2 REQUIRED STEPS to be awarded CEUs:

STEP 1: Register in Timekeeper BEFORE attending the session. Registration closes at End of Day on the date of the session. Click on Registration Directions for more help!

STEP 2: Sign the Sign-in sheet at your session! You MUST document your attendance by legibly printing your name and signing the session sign-in sheet at the meeting.

CEU FAQ

Use this FAQ to get answers to all of your questions about CEUs, Timekeeper and Professional Development!

It is the responsibility of the teacher to know when their renewal year is and how many CEU’s they have and/or need.

Credits Required for Licensure Renewal

Professional Educator's License Renewal

Below are the updated credits required for licensure renewal as of August 2025.

*General credits can be content or anything relevant to the license area or subject taught.*

Grade K-5 (8 CEUs)

3 Subject Area

3 Literacy

2 General

Grades 6-12 (8 CEUs)

4 Subject Area

4 General

Student Services Personnel (8 CEUs)

4 Professional Discipline

4 General

Administrators (8 CEUs)

4 Executive's Role

4 General

Speech and Language Pathologists & Audiologists:

Must submit a current active license in their respective fields issued by the North Carolina State Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists at the time of license renewal.
No further continuing education credits shall be required for license renewal.

Please use this template if you are leading school-based PD at a staff meeting and the staff needs to receive PD credits.

Each part of the form must be complete so that CEU's can be given in TimeKeeper.
