Rice Creek's Child Development and Preschool Inclusion Programs consists of three classrooms and a total of 53 learners working on Pre-Readiness, Early Academic, and Social Emotional Skills.
The Kindergarten at Rice Creek consists of five engaging classrooms focused on Early Mathematics, Literacy, and Social Emotional Skills. There are currently 101 learners in our Kindergarten Program. That's a whole bunch of little people!
Learning phonics to learn to read, write and spell as well as putting numbers together to create larger numbers, add and subtract - our first graders are busy with the building blocks of their education. This year, our six first grade classes are home to 120 students!
In 2024, second grade welcomed 107 energetic learners into our six homeroom classes. With thoughts of learning to read for comprehension, expanding writing skills, expanding math skills and beginning math application problems - these learners are working hard!
Our third grade pod houses our seven classes totaling 121 students, the third graders are learning how to transition from learning to read to reading to learn across all content areas including Science and Social Studies. In math our mathematicians are focused on learning multiplication and division while strengthening their math facts and application skills.
In fourth grade, our students shift from one teacher to a two teacher team in our fourth grade classrooms. With 103 students in six classrooms, these students are focused daily on expanding all of the content areas while also learning the importance of collaboration and cooperation.
Standing tall as the "seniors" on campus, our 112 fifth graders occupy six classrooms! Whether they started with us as Kindergarten students or joined us somewhere along - our fifth grade teachers are helping them grow in not only their academics but also their independence and responsibility. Rice Creek is home to three specialized programs which focus on growing our learners in all areas. Together they build strong communication skills to enhance their learning. Additionally, students throughout the building are supported in their learning by our amazing Speech Pathologists, MLL and Resource Teachers!
The Related Arts group at Rice Creek includes teachers and instructional assistants for Art, Music, Computer Lab, Maker Lab, and two Physical Education Teachers. Our PE Teachers not only cover traditional PE, but also focus on helping our students learn about Careers and Health Occupations in our ECHO Lab. Come pursue your passions with our Related Arts group!
