Frequently Asked Questions about the Innovation Incubator
Where do I apply?
Fill out the interest form here and/or reach out to Nate or Kedralyn!
Can I submit an application if I'm not a classroom teacher?
Sure you can! If your idea will impact student learning or staff growth, we want to hear about it!
How big should our team be?
Make sure you have the right team members first! We've found that 3-8 members make a good team size, but there is no magic number. It's all about the passion that you share for your idea... but it must be at least two!
I have an idea, but I'm not ready to pitch it yet. Will there be another round of applications?
Yes. You'll have another opportunity later in the school year to apply for another cohort. Start working on your pitch now to get into next year's incubator. Talk with others also to try to build a team.
I haven't told my principal/boss about my idea. Do I need to get permission to apply?
It's a good idea to get permission from the boss because you will need to be off campus for some scheduled events. You'll also need the support of your school administration if you want to try out your ideas at school. The incubator is a challenging experience, and buy-in from your leader(s) is crucial.
Is my idea innovative enough? How do I figure that out?
We recommend that you visit our Innovation Resources to learn more about innovation. The most important thing is to have a problem that needs to be solved. We'll help you with resources and support to come up with an innovative way to solve the problem.
