Mr. Keiper

Greetings art warriors and parents! In an ever evolving society, one aspect of our daily life is clear, we are constantly bombarded by visual imagery. In fact, the power of an image to communicate an idea is becoming closer to par with written communication. Therefore, I feel it is essential for students to understand these visual messages as well as to be able to communicate their own ideas visually. Along with this visual literacy, I strive to teach collaboration, creativity, critical thinking and problem solving. Thus, in short, my courses are about giving students skills that they will need to be successful in the 21st century within the context of art.

I have high expectations for my students and you can be assured that I also have high expectations for myself. I look forward to a successful school year here at Spring Valley.

Please view the tabs on the top of this page for individual class calendars, lesson plans and other pertinent information.

I am available every morning by 7:45 AM, during lunch and after school until at least 4 PM (and often later) if students need any additional time to work on projects or receive assistance.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions, issues or concerns you may have.
