Biomedical Innovations

Welcome to Biomedical Innvoations!!

In this rigorous course, students apply their knowledge and skills to answer questions or solve problems related to the biomedical sciences. This course incorporates Project Based Learning (PBL) by extending classroom learning to real world applications. Through investigation, analysis and presentation students will master South Carolina Content Standards and Success Skills that include creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration. Students are expected to design innovative solutions for the health challenges of the 21st century as they work through progressively challenging open-ended problems, addressing topics such as clinical medicine, physiology, biomedical engineering, and public health. This course focuses on developing critical thinking skills by applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating information. Throughout the course, students are expected to present their work to an adult audience that may include representatives from the local business and healthcare community.

All curriculum will be accessed using the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Learning Management System.
